January 10, 2006 - Fatty and the Athlete
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR
GGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
I fought my entire workout this morning. Kind of like the story of my life. It ought not have been so hard; I wasn't hurting physically; I've quit smoking, so my lungs weren't hurting; I was listening to great tunes on the IPod... yet the whole way, in my mind, I was just one step from quitting.... I am just so tired of fighting.
The positive spin: I finished the workout - I DIDN'T QUIT!. I feel good. It makes good sense that training for, or running a marathon isn't always going to be easy. Not only is the glass not half empty - it is almost full damnit... and, I'm alive.
Undeniably though, the emotional baggage is heavy today.

Yeah for you! A quitter, you are not! Way to power through, Scott.
Thanks buckeyerunner... I really appreciate your kind support! Wasn't I just in a mood...
I just read your posts of the last couple of days and I am sitting here giggling over your description of your recent grocery store experience.
I'm still working my way into this blogging thing - but I think it is going to be enormously helpful to keep my training going and getting me through this [damn] marathon.
My weekend goal is to try to figure out how to put the links of my daily reads into my blog like you have on yours.
Run on...
Scott,
If you go to my page, and then right click on it, there will be a selection that says "View Source" in the little pop-up box that opens. Select that, and in another window, my source code will appear. You can scroll down to find where I put my "regular read" part of the sidebar and then just copy and paste your particular links into your template section. Let me know if you have trouble.
Oh yeah...a good place to start editing your side bar is to go into your template, find the "edit-me" links, and start there. Play around with it. Good luck!
